Therapy for Burnout
Burnout is real. So is the possibility of something different.
You may feel more tired than you used to, even when life looks stable on the outside. Many people reach midlife carrying years of responsibility, pressure, and constant giving to others. Over time, it can leave you feeling drained, unmotivated, or unsure of yourself in ways that are hard to explain.
At KK Therapy Group, we work with adults in Houston and The Woodlands who feel worn down by the weight of midlife. Therapy offers space to slow down, understand what has changed, and find a more sustainable way to live.
What is Burnout?
Burnout in midlife is often less about working too hard and more about carrying too much for too long. After years of responsibility, achievement, caregiving, and pushing through, many people begin to feel a kind of exhaustion that rest alone doesn’t fix. Life may look stable on the outside, but inside it can feel heavier, flatter, or harder to stay engaged.
You may notice:
- Ongoing fatigue or feeling worn down
- Less motivation or less enjoyment
- Feeling more irritable, detached, or emotionally numb
- Difficulty sleeping or turning your mind off
- Pulling back from relationships or activities
- Using food, alcohol, or screens to cope with stress
- Feeling stuck, restless, or unsure next phase of life
Midlife burnout is often a signal that something needs to change, not because you’ve failed, but because the way you’ve been living may no longer fit who you are now.
